Dr. Matthias Lausen


Dr. Matthias Lausen advises producers and rights holders in the music, film, and image industries. He has a particular expertise in developing customized licensing models and negotiating licenses and conditions for globally operating rights holders with over 200 platforms and streaming services worldwide. Another key focus area is the acquisition and sale of media companies and the evaluation of assets. In his consulting, Dr. Lausen places emphasis not only on the legal aspects but also on the economic considerations.

Rechtsanwalt (lawyer), speaker

Founding of the law firm in 1995, with a focus on copyright law and media law. From 1989 to 1991, scientific assistant of the “Stiftung Wissenschaft und Politik” (institute for science and politics), Munich. From 1994 to 2016, manager of the Institut für Urheber- und Medienrecht (institute for copyright and media law), Munich. Since 2001, development of concepts for, and conduction of, media law expert seminars in cooperation with the Akademie der Deutschen Medien. From 2003 to 2011, lecturer on media law at the Ludwigs-Maximilians-Universität, Munich. Since 2006, lecturer of the qualification training for specialised lawyers for copyright law and media law, organised by the Institut für Urheber- und Medienrecht, Munich.
